Would have given 5 stars for Federal and Illinois tax returns. However, very disappointed in the KY state tax return for part time residents. I am retired military and retired civil service and nothing in the instruction talked about the schedule P exclusion for retired income received for federal employees before 1988. If I had not been aware of the exclusion, I would have paid over $2,000 more in taxes.
Cons: Doesn't maximize refund, Hard to prepare

Online filing of Massachusetts state income taxes fails for me every year.
I can successfully calculate my Massachusetts income tax forms but the state's website consistently rejects them. This has been happening for at least the last five years.
The Massachusetts rejection notification points to no specific errors. I end up filing by mail. This is extremely frustrating and annoying.
Pros: Easy to import documents
Cons: Time consuming
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
