Pros: Easy to prepare, Maximizes refund, Easy to import documents

I completed my taxes without difficulty except a State of California form regarding medical insurance in each month of the year. I found no instructions for the form and your program would not accept my entries for a long time. That was frustrating and took about as much time as the rest of my entries.

Great Price, but has issues

I purchased the H&R Block Deluxe software as I have done for many, many years. But, this year it has issues with it's accuracy review confusing QCD from a regular IRA RMD with those without a QCD on an inherited IRA RMD. This caused much confusion. Also, It couldn't distinguish the allowable type of lifetime RMD from inherited IRA for older deaths prior to 2019 and those under the new rules. That could create problems if audited! But, don't know if Turbotax does any better?
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Have used Federal & State for past 3 years after using TurboTax. HRB is easy to use and has good instructions and accuracy checks. Federal filing is no-cost and state is reasonable for online filing.

Tax software was good. However, in two instances when it came to filing my state taxes the software refused and told me to file paper. First was because my spouse died within the tax year and second was because there was a small K-1 associated from the estate. I would have expected the software to be able to handle these situations. It may force me to seek other options next year.
Pros: Easy to prepare
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
