Good Program for Straightforward Tax Preparation

The product is very good. I have used the H&R Block software for a number of years. My taxes are pretty straight forward without a need for a lot of the tax elements available. I was able to do my taxes in about 3 hours time. The only nuisance is that when it flags elements to "review", the caution warning never goes away. It is like having an itch that continues even after you have scratched it.
Pros: Easy to prepare
I would recommend this to a friend!

I was a volunteer tax preparer for 17 years, and I just need software to do the math and allow me to e-file. H & R Block is made for the amateur who has to be walked through everything. For instance I would like to see a K-1 on the program that looks exactly like my K-1 and allows me to fill it out exactly as on my paper K-1. The same goes for 1099-B's. It is not easy to navigate back and forth between forms and the 1040. When navigating back to the supporting forms you are taken back to the step-by-step process instead of the form. On the first attempt at E-filing the completed return, it bounced me back to some red exclamation marks. On tediously going over every step of my return I finally read on the instructions the the red marks do not exclude me from E-filing; so I tried again, this time successfully. This cost me hours of my time needlessly. I may return to TurboTax.

Cons: Time consuming, Hard to prepare
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

4 stars for the program. 1 star for the filing. Filed Federal and state together. There was an issue with the Federal. Emails came back with Federal rejected and State ON HOLD until Federal resolved. Fixed the Federal and filed. Because the State was not filed again, with a fee, I now have to file the State manually.

For the most part the H&R Block program is good. A bit difficult to find answers to questions as to where to make entries. I.E. estimated payments made.
The planning tool is a bit confusing and doesn't clearly spell out estimated payments needed to be made for next tax year.
