The State filing fee shouldn't be so expensive. Everyone has already paid a substantial fee for the Federal.

I have used H&R Block Tax software even back when it was called TaxCut. For simple returns it has been good. My only complaint is when you want to talk with a live person, that can be a hassle. If you get a live person they usually don't have the knowledge to answer your question unless its a simple one.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Easy to import documents, Fast
I would recommend this to a friend!

Ive used HRBlock for about 10 yrs. Past 3 consecutive years, I have had NO SUCCESS IN ELECTRONIC FILING, despite multiple attempts & following instructions to the T. After frustration each attempt, I have ended up submitting my returns by USPS. This will likely be the last year I use HRBlock, as I will attempt an alternate provided for 2025 return to realize the benefits of electronic filing

I have used the program for many years. I was disappointed this year that one of the forms I needed for my state return wasn't included and therefore I had to file my state return via mail. There are some quirks in the federal program, but after using it for several years a user learns ways to work around those problems.
