The program was decent. However, I was charged twice for the state filing fee because in the process of submitting my forms, the program needed to do an update. After the update, it needed me to reenter my state filing purchase information. I don't know if the federal filing action also consumed 2 of my credits for free filing. Now I have contact someone there to get this straightened out. It is definitely a bug in the system.

Some of the instructions are very confusing. And when you seek help, you get a parroted version of what you just read. Not even a link to the appropriate IRS section. And watch out for that 100% accuracy "guarantee". Read the fine print cmf you'll find out it's not really worth much, at all. Check out their annual report! Why else would they end up paying millions to folks because their program failed?
Cons: Time consuming, Hard to prepare, Hard to import documents
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I have used H&R Block Tax Software for many, many years, and like it. Sometimes it is confusing, in certain areas, but I think that could well be due to the Tax Laws being confusing, complicated, and at times not making good sense or fairness. However, I would, and likely buy it again. For the most part, it is user-friendly. 😊
