I like the interview process but the update download process could be better, more clear. The update page I checked said no Federal update but when I tried to e-file my return I was informed I had to update first. And there was an update to download. All ended well but confusing. The download and update process needs a refresh!

I have been using this app for since 2007, enjoying the ease of use and value it bring. But the 2024 version disappoint me for the lack of assess to Chase Bank with Morgan Stanley investment. I cannot link my investments accounts to the program. I try the Q&A and on line help, with no prevail. End up manually import the data. Will like better instructions to this problem in the future. PS My etrade account has no issue

This is quality software at a fair price which I have used for the past 6-7 years. It does a good job of accurately calculating personal income taxes. The shortcomings that prevent me from giving the software a higher ratings include: A few of the print functions do not provide an option to preview the document before sending the output to the printer. The decimal point used to determine the taxable portion of an IRA distribution on IRS Form 8606 is limited to 3 positions which can overstate the taxable portion of an IRA distribution when there is a non taxable basis in an IRA. Filing options interview does not make it clear when a return should be printed a saved to a PDF. The option preview a return before filing is there. The Filing interview does not make it clear that an option of save and print the actual efiled return will be available after the return is filed. This result in saving the return more times than s necessary. I have not found any tax software that is perfect.
Pros: Easy to prepare
Cons: Doesn't maximize refund
