I always use H&R block to prepare my taxes. Have for years, never had an audit or question from IRS. Will continue to use this software. It is easy to use and understand. Good at explaining most issues.
Cons: Time consuming, Doesn't maximize refund, Hard to prepare, Hard to import documents

I have used the software for several years and it is much easier than when I first began. I find the software to be user friendly for the most part. Did have an issue this year with being able to verify the details of my state return. I had exempt bonds and could not easily determine that they had not been taxed. Occasionally, the wording of explanations or requirements are not clear to me. The problem is a common issue for all software users. The authors, usually people who know the subject or process, use language common to them, but not necessarily to the amateur user. Assumptions by both parties lead to mistakes.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Fast

It was somewhat ok vs TurboTax but had the following problems.
1) Downloaded my ML file. Discovered it had somehow double counted some interest dividends. Had to amend my return, saving thousands.
2)On my MA state tax, the program did not carryover my tax loss. Manually inserted, saving thousands again.
Errors like this make me nervous there are other errors. Waiting to see if I get audited.

Would not transfer information from last years H&R Block.
Would not switch between guided entry and actual form. Very clumsily and not efficient.
Print selection is terrible. Can not just go to one form and print it.
Definite disaster. Was far better 3 or 4 years ago. Don't let the kid do the programming any more!
