I've been using HR Block to do my own taxes for about 15 years. It's pretty good, but it should be better. One thing I keep running into is numbers that you calculate that I click on and select the option to see where this came from and I get the notice that says basically nowhere. I end up trusting it, but this makes me nervous. In one case, I'm told to check the instructions for form xxxx, but you don't have those instructions. Yeah, I get it, you can't contain everything, but surely you could include the option to open a tab on my browser with those instructions. Don't make me search for it.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Easy to import documents
Cons: Time consuming

I have been using TaxCut/H&R Block software since the early 1990s. This year I had something new to deal with (K1 partnership) and the software was pretty much unhelpful in completing my taxes. There was a lot of head scratching and reading the instructions multiple times and reading IRS publications. The software let me down. I finally figured out what to do and completed my taxes manually.
