Most everything goes smoothly until you have to get to the middle of something. Trying to get back is somewhat difficult. Also Deduction Pro is hard to use. Wish all the options could be expanded as one so you could print out a list to use during the year.

I have used H&R Block for many years. I am happy with the software for its user-friendly interface and its accuracy. I have never had any problems with e-filing my returns and have never received a letter of correction from the IRS.

Still Won’t Install with MyDocs on Network Share

PLEASE fix your software. Every year I get an error because this software is unable to install if My Documents is mapped to a network share. It is a complete pain in the butt and I will switch to TurboTax next year because of it.

This product is incomplete it will not do local taxes and additionally for some reason some errors cannot be cleared and I don't even know how these errors were caused but I was unable to clear those errors I mean the thing is thinking that enter unreported tips could not clear it also it would not let me clear an issue with not having any insurance

Limit the in program upsell; hack for rejections

I used Turbo Tax for many years and I got tired of the constant upsell. My view is that I bought and paid for the software I wanted and didn't want to be pushed repeatedly to buy an upgrade. I notice that HR Block has added some upsell screens and I hope I don't have to find another software.
Generally I find the HR BLOCK software easy to use. This year I had a frustrating experience as the federal filing was rejected multiple times even though the pre-filled prior year AGI was correct. I gave up and started printing the return to file by mail. As the 40+ pages were printing, I came across an online post that entering 0 for the prior year AGI often cured this problem. I tried that and it worked. It would have been very helpful if the software suggested that after a couple of rejections.

It never accepts my return. I always have to mail

Even though the Feds sent me a pin. It is 6 numbers and they only have room to insert 5 numbers. So every year I have to mail return since it doesn't get accepted. What a pain that it won't let me e-file. This happens every year. I like everything else like importing my investments from my brokers and easy to use. I just wish it would let me e-file.
