The software was ok. We used the "take a picture and upload W2" function. Both our W2s uploaded errors flagged (didn't upload SS#, address, etc...). Was easier to type in the information, than to fix the errors. This was unfortunate and a bit time consuming.
Pros: Easy to prepare
Cons: Hard to import documents

Added a second state, and had to pay another e-file fee even though the first state NY there is not allowed to be an edible fee for.
I keep feeling like being nickled and dimed for everything I needed.

I have used Block software for almost 20 years. It is easy to use and accurate. I am retired now but once upon a time I was an accountant and an attorney. This is a good product that makes it easier to comply with Title 26 USC (tax code). Some one else gets to read the Letter Rulings and Federal Regulations.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Maximizes refund, Easy to import documents, Fast

I’ve been using H & R tax software for approximately 10 years and am very happy with it. However I believe it can be improved with additional capabilities to accommodate special codes for limited partners of publicly traded partnerships receiving firms K-1.

I've been using H&R Block tax software for 3 years this year. This year I discovered an issue with the 1099-INT Line 11 (Bond Premium). This field is basically static, the software does not use the data entered in any expected calculations, like other tax software does. The software requires you to incorporate the data one enters in line 11 via the next page: Amortization Bond Premium Adjustment. My take on this page is to allow you to "adjust" the number entered on Line 11 of the 1009-INT data collection page. Having finally found this out, I had to Amend the previous 2 years since I hadn't noticed this behavior before. Also, this software implements the Amend process workflow horribly. Bottom line, I guess you get what you pay for as this software is just average.
I would recommend this to a friend!
