I will you turbotax next time. It is worth the additional 20 bucks. The interface is not as nice and some data entry and correction is difficult.

For the first time, as far as I actually "know", the tax software failed to import all data. Believing it did, the check failed indicating I had to complete some fields but the input was totally missing. When I attempted to rezimport the data, it duplicated what it has successfully retrieved on the first attempt but did bring in what it had failed to retrieve. This duplication proved that the software is not capable of determining what already exists and thus doubled my tax bill. Then I had to sift through the data to determine what might have been duplicated. I owed a significant amount this year and have no clue if I actually do. For the first time I do not trust the software to be accurate.
Cons: Doesn't maximize refund, Hard to import documents
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Have been using H&R software for doing my taxes for over 20 years and have not had any issues at all. It has been consistently accurate, dependable and very easy to use. Easy to follow interview that asks the questions needed to completely fill in the tax return and any supporting forms and guides you as to what line number on what form the information it wants is located. The built in help explains any questions I have had about anything "new" in my return so that I understand the impact. Cleanly laid out to allow a little "what if" entry. (ex: itemized deductions vs standard) for best result.

I have been buying the HR Deluxe program for many years and has always worked great. Recently, I found a mistake in my 2023 taxes, forcing me file an amended return.. Everything went well doing the federal return, but quickly found the software DOES NOT have the capabilities to do a state amended returns around. To me this is very disappointing since the state software is park of the package.
I would recommend this to a friend!
