I have used H&R Block for doing my taxes for the last 15 years and always have had a good experience using it. The software is pretty much fail safe and makes you confident that everything is being filled out correctly. I bough a new pc laptop this year specifically to use the software and when I bought it and downloaded it, everything was smooth. The updates worked quick and I did my state taxes as well. I always check, and recheck my work as I go along and accept the challenge doing my own taxes.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Easy to import documents

I Paid for State software that was never delivered

You cheated and gypped me. On April 12 I bought 2024 Deluxe + State Tax Software. On April 13, after filling out the Federal form, I went to the State tab, and it told me I had to pay for the State software, even though I had already paid for Federal + State. Out of desperation, I paid, and it then brought me back to the page that said I had to pay for State software. The State software was never delivered. I exited the program, got in again, paid for State software again, and again it brought me back to the page saying I had to pay for State software, but it never delivered anything. I ended up doing my State taxes by hand, not using H&R Block. Bottom line: I paid 3 times for H&R Block State tax software that was never delivered.

Incorrect interview for dependents wrong birthdate

Furthermore, I could not e-file my daughters return because the program transmitted the wrong birthdate to the IRS
