Underlying product doesn't appear to have been updated in years. A lot of features are flaky, like "take me to related form" (often incorrectly errors "There are no related entries here"). Help is lame (brain-dead search, incomplete navigation/context). Some forms can only be populated via the interview. Etc.
Plus: cheaper than TurboTax.

Software worked very well, but when it came to the section on RMD, the instructions became confusing. I was finally able to work it out.

There could be added features for summarizing the year and add comparison for all years that HR Block has been used. ie 2012-2024 side - by side summary.
Pros: Easy to prepare

I have been using Taxcut for filing tax returns since late 1990s. I like it very much because it simplifies the tasks of filing taxes. Last year, due to a special situation, I also tried another leading tax filing software for the first time side by side with Taxcut. With same sets of data, Taxcut saved me more than 10k in federal tax alone, compared to the other software. This is a real winner!!!
Pros: Easy to prepare, Maximizes refund, Easy to import documents, Fast
