I've been using H&R block for over 2 decades and it has made tax preparation and filing easy. I like the Deduction Pro for non-cash donations as it is easy to enter donations and the value is calculated automatically.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Maximizes refund, Easy to import documents, Fast

I have been using TaxCut for a long time to do my taxes. I have recently recommended the Premium edition to my friend, assuming the premium edition would be able to to his trust filing. Actually, all he was trying to do was to file for an extension. I was unpleasantly surprised that the TaxCut Premium could not do a trust return. I had egg all over my face. Not cool!

I bought the program to do federal and state returns. Last year I payed for automatic renewal but had to buy it again anyway. Deluxe should include federal and state filing versus so many federal and still having to pay to file state. I can say it was easy to use even on my Windows 10 machine.
Pros: Easy to import documents
Cons: Doesn't maximize refund
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Very Good, Except for Jumping to an Input Section

I have been using H&R Block's software for decades and think it is very good. My only complaint is that when I use the feature to go to a specific input section (such as interest, dividends, deductions, etc.), the window that pops us is not accessible since it is almost not visible on the screen (it just barely shows up on the top of the screen). Accordingly, that feature is useless to me. I'm not sure why it does that, I have to use the back button to go back to a particular section or use the tabs near the top of the screen.
