I am disappointed, I had a coded deduction that did not work in reducing my income from a K-1 and there was no help in obtaining the necessary income reduction. I have been using your product ever since it was on the market.
The solutions offered were not helpful. I ended up just netting the income since any other possibility prohibited me from electronically filing the taxes.
Pros: Fast
Cons: Hard to prepare
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I have used this software for probably 20 years, almost always doing two federal and state returns per year. I think the app is well designed and easy to use. The only problem that I remember from this year was that I think it was easier in the past to clear a warning during the final review. This year, a warning took me to a social security form that didn't apply to me. I clicked on the warning about five times and tried various things to clear it. I clicked on the Delete Form and Close buttons instead of entering any values but the warning never went away. This was frustrating because I think I have always cleared any warnings in the past and I wasted time discovering that this one apparently couldn't be cleared.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Fast
Cons: Time consuming

The software walks you step by step through all of the line items on the 1040. It connects to investment accounts and downloads tax information from the most complicated investment vehicles smoothly and accurately into the tax return, saving hours of manual entry. The software works even on older computer systems; I switched from TurboTax to H&R Block when the former would no longer work on my old Apple. The audit protection is excellent, though I've never needed to use it.
