Been using this for years. Never had a problem. THis year State said everything was good, so I submitted. Rec'd Letter from state saying I owed a penalty. Checked and previous years state info was missing. It always updates onfo from previous year. I filled in missing blanks and it then showed I owed a penalty. Really concerned for next year when it verifies everything ok.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Easy to import documents, Fast

program is pretty good, but support is terrible! was hung up on by 2 agents in a row, which is almost enough to make me consider alternatives. been using block for over 10 yrs, but based on poor support, just might make a change next yr. saying you don't know the answer is 1 thing but hanging up on a question is another thing. I found a work-around myself!

It worked as expected. There was one problem with it where it would not accept that I did not have any withdrawals from social security. That happened during the check for errors. At least it allowed me to ignore it.

Cons: Time consuming, Doesn't maximize refund, Hard to prepare, Hard to import documents

Had questions about property damage that no one was able to answer in spite of multiple attempts to find someone to answer my questions. Was transferred around and then given numbers for more people, none of whom could answer.

The software works for the most part. There was some issues this year, especially as it applied to RMD's, whereby I shouldn't have had to be bothered with form 5329, since I had taken out more than the RMD, so I neither had excess accumulation, nor missed a payment. Also the imported AGI was incorrect, causing rejection of submission to the FED.
I often wonder if there is more deductions available, than just what I see.
Pros: Easy to import documents
