Encountered more issues and problems this year than all the previous years combined. Still a solid product but another year like this may have me looking around. Import from Edward Jones was extremely problematic. Imported wrong forms, EIN/SSN numbers on several imports were not mine but from an estate I was handling. Should have been 2 forms imported, ended up importing 8. So had to delete 6, the last one I had to hunt for because I knew I should have had a refund. Took quite a while but ended up examining all the forms being submitted, for the extra 1099-R and had over a 4k gain by eliminating that form which shouldn't have been submitted.
The program auto-filled my AGI from previous year wrong, so federal returns kept being rejected. I had to override the AGI. Where the program told me to go on 2023 form to find the PIN that I could use this year was blank. Could have used PIN instead of the 2023 AGI but since it was blank, I had to work through overriding the AGI, finally did and got the return accepted.
Pros: Easy to import documents
Cons: Time consuming, Doesn't maximize refund, Hard to prepare

I thought that the federal program was good, but the New Jersey program needs improvement. It doesn’t feed medical expenses from the federal that are deductible on New Jersey.

MN other tax paid wouldn’t transfer from Federal

The MN state return program would not transfer “other state taxes paid” from the Federal program. I had to do a work around by reclassifying them as estimated tax payments. This took too much extra time, so I’ll probably go back to TurboTax next year. I never had this problem with them.
