It’s a good product that I’ve used for many years. It is relatively simple to use, asks the right questions, provides adequate details about the various credits, exemptions, and so on. The interface hasn’t changed much though (feels very 2000s to me) and viewing the actual forms should be easier/more intuitive. Again, gets the job done but isn’t sexy or modern.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Maximizes refund
Cons: Hard to import documents

Like the software, but found 1 major problem this

I have used your product for many years and have been satisfied. This year, I discovered a very confusing item with your software that could have cost me a lot of money (>$1,000). I entered numerous 1099's with foreign tax payments and had over $1,000 of total foreign credits to claim. Despite those entries, the software ignored the data and was not including the credits in my taxes. I found this by manual inspection, not because of a software-driven warning. Through brute force trial and error I figured out where I was missing another entry that allowed the software to include the noted foreign tax credits...but it was far more difficult to figure this out than it should have been...hours of wasted time. Based on internet chatter, I am far from alone with this complaint. Please find a way to have the software recognize that foreign tax credits are not able to be claimed and suggest troubleshooting/verification. Credits are worth a lot of money and would more than pay for choosing a more robust tax preparation software.
