I have used Block for years and now that I am older and memory sucks, explanations of tax code gets harder and harder to understand. Amortization, as an example, where it relates to taxes does not make sense to me.

I've used the H&R Block tax software for many years. This time the wrap-up Validation/Verification (at completion) seemed full of irrelevant data checks for forms I wasn't submitting -- a real waste of my time. I eventually began wondering if I wasn't being victimized by a runamok AI tool. I don't recall enduring such silliness in previous years. I may have to try TaxCut.
Cons: Time consuming
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I bought the federal and state version. It worked fine as usual until I started to finish the state and I had to pay for state again which I did because it was not worth the bother to call.to fix the problem!

Purchased in 2024 and 2025. Couldn't load in2024. Had to repurchase program. In 2025, couldn't upload updates for federal and state. Had to do Md state by hand. Federal was successful without update. Will purchase again only because previous financial data is easily uploaded. Will abandon your program when free available federal and state tax programs are offered in the coming years.
Cons: Time consuming, Hard to import documents
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
