This is the second year I have used theH&R software. Last year, I couldn't efile my return. This year I couldn't efile my amendment return.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Easy to import documents
Cons: Time consuming
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Handles my tax situation easily and accurately. The small fonts are difficult to read. There's room on each page to resize the fonts. However, there's no ability to change font size, unlike many windows products.
Pros: Easy to prepare

software still not easy on more unique items phone support was not helpful. I have a masters degree and have filled out taxes as a side job in the past. I even new what the answer was ona tax form but it took days to figure how to fill in the software questions / worksheets to generate the "right forms" the support service tried but just didnt understand enough about the product to answer my questions. I have been using HR/Taxcut for years and the last few years have been disappointing

Everything seemed to work fine except for the Illinois state estimate form. The form would not allow me to change data on the form for correct estimated income for next year. It would only print the estimate based on 2024 taxes actually paid. I had a significant amount of income in 2024 that I will not have in 2025. Ended up going to department of revenue website and downloaded blank forms.
Cons: Time consuming

A lot of false alarms that the the return was ready to file when was not ready to file. Difficult to change answers after original entry of information.
