I bought the state version in addition to the federal. It did not process our return correctly. I went back over all of the numbers I entered and still came up with an incorrect return amount. When I submitted it to the state they re-calculated our return and still weren’t able to come up with a correct amount as my W2 was not sent with my husbands 2099R. I don’t know if I will use it again next year.
Cons: Time consuming, Hard to prepare
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I've been using this software for four years and have never been disappointed. The explanation for each question is clear. There is a toll free number just in case you need further information. The best part is my refunds are deposited in my account within a week.

Nightmare 2nd year

Unable to transmit 2nd year in a row I had to mail my taxes in follow the info on rejecting retransmitted came back again and again same issue I review my taxes over two days again and again. Finally I printed them and mailed them in again 2 years in a row.
Pros: Easy to import documents
Cons: Time consuming
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Missing checks and balances, costs a lot more than

The interface was good and the process fast. I did the electronic filing of federal and state taxes and filled out the information. I was later informed by the state that the electronic transaction did not have a bank account, so I was given a fine and interest of $435. It was taking a long time to get my federal return back. I went to the software to see if I can get an idea where it was, but it sent me to a website that didn't have the information. I finally found it at the IRS and there wasn't a bank account associated and they are sending it by check. I do recall entering the routing and account numbers, but it obviously didn't make it. This should have been caught by the software. I used Turbo Tax the previous 20+ years and had no issues aside from their push for one-on-one instead of software.
Pros: Easy to prepare
Cons: Doesn't maximize refund
