After several years using this software, I find it somewhat clunky, sometimes perplexing, but able to get the job done. This year a late update deleted some data I had entered. I knew that something negative happened, so I carefully reviewed the return and reentered the data.
Cons: Time consuming

Unclear how to file when a dependent dies. Difficulty doing an e-file with a decease dependent. My e-file was not successful and then it was unclear how to proceed.
Unclear how to report self-employment income reported on a 1099. The interview questions did not present themselves properly. I had to go back and undo all the 1099 self employment income.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Bought your program and I was not able to e file due to no explanation bar for a voided form concerning healthcare.gov there should be a void box at the top of the form there is one on the paper copy you get in the mail.

Early purchase. Program never properly performed auto update and required obscure manual alternative. Final filing interrupted by need to manually update both federal and state program. Have used Block for many years. This was first time stand alone program failed to function properly in Mac OS.
Cons: Time consuming

I've used the app for many years, and while it works pretty well (the wizard interface mostly works fine), the interface hasn't really been updated in years. A UI update would be nice, making better use of the screen.
My biggest complaint is that the Errors and Warnings aren't always clear, and it may not always be possible to jump to the form or page being flagged.
Lastly, the cost to electronically file (state) is a bit steep.
