I have used H&R for years mostly because it is easier to transition from year to year.
The other primary reason is that I don't like Turbo-Tax
Pros: Easy to prepare
Cons: Doesn't maximize refund

Works good for mainstream things, but software fails to be helpful when unusual details happen. Cost to eFile state is too high. To crude of a final check, hard to skip over 100+ stock transactions and sometimes very unclear directions. No thoughtful way to remove personal details for information security.

I could not access my previous years tax return so had to reenter all of the information. I did not get a flyer with a discount this year. Otherwise the program was relatively simple to use.
Pros: Easy to prepare
Cons: Hard to import documents
