Needs Improvement.

I really like the ease of being able to have a pdf file of my W2 being read and the data captured and preloaded unto the federal form. But, not all the fields on the 1040 form as loaded. Prime example is that the area for box 14 of the W2 is not captured and loaded. And speaking of box 14, some of the codes used on the W2 are NOT available on the dropdown box, i.e. IRC132 is not on the dropdown box, nor SDI for New York state.
Overall though I would recommend H&R Block tax software.

Great if You Don't Print and Mail

First, this isn't a ding, just something for the wish list. I would like to see a "permanent" version of the program that would use plug-ins each year. That would make it easier to access prior years' returns if necessary.
I have family members that want to print and mail their returns. The printing dialog in this program works, but it's still not easy. For example, it prints the filing instructions on the first page, and then prints the first page of the 1040 on the back of that page! What I end up having to do is use the "Print to PDF" feature, then pick my pages one form at a time from the PDF reader. It also should include an envelope creator. I know that isn't a common issue, but I've done their taxes for years and that aspect hasn't gotten any easier.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Easy to import documents, Fast
Cons: Time consuming

Software did NOT rertain same numbers! Now I don't have a copy of what I actually filed with the IRS - and I need it becasue they did not get my taxers when I filed them!!!

Time Saver

I've used H&R Block (Tax Cut) for over 20 years and find it easy and reliable. It can read in last year's information that is relevant and save me having to repeat the same information that is necessary for the new year. Also, by repeating the categories of income and deductions from last year, it helps me make sure I'm not overlooking items.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Easy to import documents, Fast
I would recommend this to a friend!

I wanted to try this out without having to provide a Windows 11 PC. It is different. 2 of the date fields would not let put in a date in the format shown XX/XX/XXXX. I was limited to 4 digits so I just left them blank.
