Interview Questions were not asked

Twice the interview questions did not ask me something that made a huge difference in my return. It stated I did not live in the US for more than 6 months, when I clearly checked the box that I was a US resident. I had to go to the Whole Form section to realize there was a small box that had to be checked stating I had lived in the US for more than 6 months and the interview question missed it. Made a big difference in whether I qualified for the EIC.
Cons: Time consuming, Doesn't maximize refund

Software error?

Software worked fine, but suspect an error in software calculation, contacted the help desk and got nowhere.
Pros: Easy to prepare

More Confusing than other years

Not happy with the high charge placed on paying Federal tax by credit card. 2+% on taxes owed. costs related to payment should be the same for any amount of taxes due.
Pros: Easy to import documents
Cons: Hard to prepare
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Easy to follow software instructions

I have used H & R Block Tax software for years and will continue to do so. All you need is all of your necessary withholding paperwork, and the software program walks you through every step.
Cons: Time consuming, Doesn't maximize refund, Hard to prepare, Hard to import documents

It appears to work OK. Won't know until the IRS is done with it. Have had mistakes in the past.

Doesn't support Grand Rapids city tax forms

I've used Tax Cut for years, but I now work in Grand Rapids Michigan, and the Tax Cut software does not support the Grand Rapids city tax forms. Turbo Tax does. I'm switching to Turbo Tax next year unless the support is added.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Easy to import documents

Confusing

Navigating was good but came to "TAXES" on Federal and then "EXCESS ACCUMULATIONS" which I had none, I had a difficult time getting thru it. If I didn't have any excess accumulations, it should have gone to the next item. However, it wanted to tax me over $4600 for excess taxes, which I had none. I took out the required amount on my distribution as it asked but found it very confusing after that. Extremely frustrating. BTW A.I. wasn't any help. I gave it two stars because of clarity of and navigating thru Excess Accumulations.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Easy to import documents
Cons: Time consuming
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

good but a bit unclear and too detailed

I just bought and used this software. It was stepwise and mostly clear except for foreign tax. It led me to think I had to complete Form 1116 for only U.S. investments' foreign tax paid, since passive income was not clarified nor was there a note to stop and not complete Form 1116 for only such foreign investment. I initially completed the Form 1116 and on my (not H&R) prompted review, I learned the software had erroneously credited me twice for this foreign tax paid. I then had to delete the Form 1116. I wasted about a half hour on this.
Pros: Maximizes refund, Easy to import documents
Cons: Time consuming
I would recommend this to a friend!
