Better in previous years. Now... Not so much.

I have been a regular user of H&R Block tax software for years and this may be the last time I use it.
PROs: It's easy to use, and I like not needing to re-enter my tax information every year because it gets imported from my previous year's tax return, which is a huge timesaver. They also have good support for active duty military, and helped me with things like PCS moves and proper tax prep for other special circumstances.
CONS: When you have questions, I've never found a way to actually talk to a human to get help. I could use online chat in previous years, but this year they seem to have replaced it with AI chat, and it was useless for the one question I had and I couldn't find an answer anywhere. Not online, not on the support pages, not even on the IRS website. I ended up having to file with a possible error because I spent almost a month trying to find an answer on my own.
Cons: Hard to prepare
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Horrible experience. I've been using your software for years. In my final review of 2025 federal taxes, I noticed an Excess Roth Contribution Carryover that wasn't right. I traced it back through 2024 and 2023, where it was apparently created from the software; there never was an excess, and I failed to note the problem previously. I was able to correct the 2025 forms and submitted. Amending 2024 and 2023 was very difficult, and when I finally got finished and tried to submit, the program refused, despite consistent assurances that I could. The printed cover page had the wrong IRS address, a list of forms to submit that did not correspond to the forms it printed. Support confirmed that the submission address was incorrect but was not a tax professional and unable to answer any other questions, instead referring me to a local office for billable help. Lost all confidence in accuracy and reliability of this product.
Cons: Time consuming, Doesn't maximize refund, Hard to prepare
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I've been using H&R Block Tax software for over a decade and have always had good success until this year. For some reasson the software could not resolve my SSN income as that of 'one' person on my state tax which forced me to file through the mail. Not happy.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Maximizes refund, Easy to import documents, Fast
Cons: Time consuming
