Instructions collapse wiith complicated tax laws, telling the user to fill out the form. Explanations of the arcane tax language are often not obvious and not explained by Block either.
This year the downloading of 1099s was a mess. When called with problem, after long wait, got switched around, more wait, promised followup and got none.

I was not able to file electronically this year as I contributed to a donor advised fund appreciated stocks, had to file paper return on Feb.26th still have not received my refund and IRS is still processing, would expect software would allow to file electronically

Love HR Block Deluxe. My main dislike is it keeps going up every year. I see no reason why an upgrade from the previous year is not offered instead of having to buy a program every year. This make a lot of sense... HR Block might want to consider it.
