Overall I like the SW. I have using H&R B for my taxes for well over a decade. However, I have two interfaces that do annoy me ...
1. Inputs regards RMDs. I have an IRA with a mutual fund company that is not on H&R B's lookup list and so I must load the data manually. I have my money in eight (8) funds (and my wife has the same). This mutual fund company does not provide a single rollup ID (our other IRAs are with another mutual fund company that does provide a rollup summary). This is not H&R B's fault. However, input (all 16) requires me to answer the same questions every time regards, is it a rollover, did any go to charity, do I have any part of it that I have already paid taxes on, etc. It would be nice if after the first entry, H&R B could provide a summary screen with the previous answers and three choice: [Back] [Change for this entry] [Accept/Continue].
2. H&R B's planning section regarding next year's estimated taxes is WORTHLESS. Just get a copy of Form 1040-ES, "Estimated Tax for Individuals", a pencil, a calculator, and fill out the worksheet yourself.

I have used H&R Block for 20+ years. It has made filing taxes much easier. Now that we are retired: By doing this myself every year it is easier to keep up with tax changes, understand earning limits that Impact tax brackets and allow us to better strategize about our spending and accounts we withdraw from for income. A bonus is transferring to a state tax return as the program transfers the basic information over to the state program. The only downside is that the state program does not support all forms which in a few past years has caused me to print out those forms from my states website and mail in my return. I hope they fix / add more state forms into their program in the coming years.

I could not submit my PA return electronically due to a logic error in your program, so it was excruciating doing it manually, making many copies and including the first several pages of my Federal Return. I am retired and have NO W-2s. Your program insisted in including a W-2 in the electronic filing process and my PA return was rejected, all the times that I submitted it. AI helped me find this error and suggested work arounds. I choose the "old" fashion way since I was tired of wasting time. Do you test these things completely? I doubt it. it.

Cons: Doesn't maximize refund, Hard to import documents
