I've been using H&R Block for a number of years. I am very happy with the service. This year however, there seemed to be a problem with the Fed treatment of K-1 loss caried forward amounts. As a result I had to wait for updates to handle this, and eventually had to do a work around to file. I will continue to use H&R Block because of my familiarity with it and max refunds.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Maximizes refund, Easy to import documents, Fast
I would recommend this to a friend!

Why did I need to pay to file my State tax return when I purchased a package for 5 Federal filing and 1 State filing? Otherwise this is a great software package. Quick and easy.
Cons: Time consuming, Doesn't maximize refund, Hard to prepare, Hard to import documents

I used this program last year and it easily downloaded the last year info into this year's (2025} program. But I did have trouble the State return,

I've used it for years and had good results. I just open last years program and forms, and the new one and then have a way to see how the law has changed items, screen by screen. My only complaint is that tax prepayers, and companies like HR and others are vested In this unnessarily complex system, and lobby our bought off legislators to keep this going. In truth, if government wasn't so corrupt and self-serving we wouldn't need this software at all. The tax law is for the benefit of the rich, who run our country!

I completed my taxes mid February and was looking forward to a nice refund but sadly the software would not let me submit electronically because the partnership logic was not in the package yet. It eventually came the first part of April and I was able to submit but I was absent my refund for 2 months. Not a happy camper about that and customer support was not.

I switched from Intuit's Turbo Tax after many years to H&R Block software. Intuit refuses to support Windows 10 and I am so sick of the Microsoft rotten software and up sell garbage operating system called Windows that I will not buy the garbage software from the Microssoft rotten monopoly. Windows is garbage and I will never get a Windows 11 malware.
So - I tried H&R. Not bad but there are a few annoying problems. In review it said check and income source and I did and I re-did the page over and over and H&R kept saying action required and there was nothing nothing at all wrong with and HR
