I like the discount I was given to return to file my taxes. However some of the verbiage used made things confusing while filing. I almost feel its account talk limbo vs a dummies guide. I feel this program doesnt flow as easy as turbo tax does

I have been using H&R Block tax software for about ten years. I am often a little nervous when I approach the task, but I am always pleasantly surprised at how quick and easy it turns out to be when I am finished. This year, for some unknown reason, I was unable to import my Form 1099 data directly into my return. My financial institution was not included on the list of those providing this service. It wasn't a problem. I entered the data manually. I would have spent the same amount of time verifying the imported data.
Pros: Easy to prepare
Cons: Hard to import documents

The Federal Return hardcoded the SSA forms for anyone over 65 and locked in arbitrary values that could not be edited/amended, corrected, or deleted when the taxpayer WAS NOT RECEIVING SSA funds. The form could not be deleted so the accuracy check would always flag that as an error that COULD NOT BE CORRECTED by the user. That lasted nearly 3-weeks before it was finally fixed. That is completely unacceptable for the prices you charge and the guarantees you make. The 2025 software should be thoroughly reviewed and corrective actions taken to ensure this does not happen again for 2026 and beyond. Furthermore, a full refund should be granted to any customer who purchased this software in good faith only to have this issue cause frustration, anxiety, and unnecessary stress.

I have used the tax software for so many years, and I never had any problem, but this tax year has been somewhat disappointing because the software is making changes in some parts of the information by itself. An example, I entered the correct amount in the withholding tax box, and when I ran an accuracy review, it made an error. This happens all the time, even though I corrected it over and over.
