H&R. Block 2025 Deluxe + State with AI apparently

I purchased this software on line a few weeks ago. I downloaded it on my mini-max system, which is a first for me. The download went well plus bringing my 2024 over. I have been using your product for years, but this year was a big disappointment. Entries would change on the fly and I would have to go back over line by line to double and triple check the entry. I went from a nice refund to owing a couple thousand dollars for making almost no change other than an account number. Data was not stable. In one case I was not allowed to enter a number that came right from Fidelity. I rekeyed it over and over and finally left the spot blank. I was on the verge of buying Turbo Tax and read reviews that said they were not doing so well either for some folks. After the latest update things seemed to settle down, but I am very disappointed in the total amount of work I needed to do over and over again until I felt things were good. I even had an NC tax paid entry out of the blue where none was taken out. If my case was the norm you will have a lot of audits and explain to do in the future. Maybe the big beautiful bill was too much for you. Keep AI out of it and let the consumer enter data that has been provided by the financial company. Normally I I would have no problem recommending this software, but not this year.

Good program but I have user interface suggestions

I have used H&R Blocks for many years. I find it rather easy to use. The questions are straight forward. Most of the ones we had questions with, we could get an answer using the help.
For the first time we used the download 1099s for our investments. The first download was bad which we discovered after we had saved. We started a second return and downloaded again, and that time it was right.
The download grouped transactions in the 1099B (we had lots). The gain/loss sum in the summary page was 0 for each group which was not the correct amount. After a fair amount of math and comparing to the income summary we discovered it was right. It would be nice if that was accurate and saved us time.
The program wants us to check every downloaded 1099B transaction. To do that: open it, check, and then wait a few minutes to save before you can do another. This is very time consuming (as in hours for us). It would be nice if you have lots of 1099B transactions to be able to access a page that listed the date, investment, proceed, cost, gain/loss, and a check mark to say it is correct or a box to access the entire transaction. This would make it much faster to check all those transaction. If not, instead of saving a transaction and going to the summary, have a next button to allow us to go from one sale to another.
I realize that the order corresponds to the order they appear in the tax documents, but most people haven't looked at the documents and realize that. It would make more sense to list related items together. For example, rather than asking about health insurance and HSAs in 2 places, do them together. (I keep those documents together.)
Pros: Easy to prepare, Maximizes refund, Easy to import documents
Cons: Time consuming

I was disappointed to find my last year agi was incorrectly brought in at about half what it should be and then was rejected by IRS. Then when I resubmitted I was charged the state fee again.
