We have been using H&R Deluxe tax software for a number of years. We like the ease of the information that is carried over from year to year and the ease of completing the rest of the details. One year I needed help with a section of the taxes. An H&R expert walked me through it. That was very easy. We trust that our taxes are completed accurately and successfully.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Maximizes refund, Easy to import documents, Fast

I have used this program for many years but found something different happening as I closed out the process for completing and submitting for final approval. I will probably use a different program next year. I don't know exactly what the problem was, I just know that something was more confusing and out of the usual order of things.

I’m a repeat customer but am continually frustrated by doing everything right and then finding errors at the end which were never addressed during the process. Can’t things like my address be populated from my address that you already have? Also, if the main page is changed from 1040A to 1040SR shouldn’t I be informed prior to printing to avoid confusion?

Cons: Hard to import documents

I use H&R Block software every year. It works great but I still have a couple things that almost catch me every year. For example, entering K-1 data. I get a message that I don't understand every year and then have to research it. I wish the software was better at guiding me and making sure I don't miss anything.
Also, I just want to print my quarterly estimated tax coupons and every year it is such a hassle. They want you to go through a big Q&A to get to it. I know my numbers, just let me print it! So this year I suffered through the Q's again and then it printed the forms with a big note that it won't be available until later in the year. What?!!! I can see it under your big fat message! Just let me print it. Frustrating.
