Good except for section on RMD

The software was easy to use until it came to the Required Minimum Distribution section. That one section is a bit confusing. It should be made much more clear.

More and more bugs each year. You have to know more than the program does about taxes, and if you answer one question wrong (by mistake), it can permanently affect ("tattoo") the return, causing you to have to start all over with a new return. However, if you have a real tax question, good luck. The AI piece is average, and contacting their support only assists with software problems. They used to have actual tax help, but not anymore (as far as I could tell). This used to be a good program, but seems to decline a little each year. Each year I create notes for myself on the bugs so I can be aware of them next year.
Help sections are sometimes helpful and the price is right. And it beats doing taxes on paper.
Cons: Time consuming
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Everything consistent EXCEPT was unable to import 1099 info from Merrill Lynch whereas the last decade + it was possible - please add this back in for 2026 version!

1040-SR leaves MUCH to be desired.

1.Program does not indicate any way to declare that a spouse died during the tax year. Does not indicate anyway to send a death certificate as required by the IRS
2. 1040-ES does not work when switching from married filing joint to single due to death of spouse. Cannot estimate my required tax payments for FY2026
3. 1040-ES is not final but no indication of when the update will be made.
4. ForeignTax Credit form instructions are not useful and difficult to do this correctly.
