I have been using this software for many many years. It does help me prepare my federal and California tax returns and I do have confidence that I am submitting proper and correct tax returns to the government and the state every time I use it. My complaint is that for the second time I have been unable to submit my tax returns electronically. There is an issue with pin number or something else, but the problem remains. I am unable to submit e-filing from this software for the second year around. I think next year I will try a different software.
Pros: Easy to prepare
Cons: Hard to import documents
I would recommend this to a friend!

Terrible junkware

I used the Deluxe desktop version for compatibility with my computer OS. I have had problems with H&R program making errors in the past, but this version is absolutely terrible. I spent hours trying to get it to correctly enter information. After I entered my pension information and went on to the next item, it spontaneously changed the previous entry. It took forever to figure out how to enter a transaction that did not have a 1099-B. It would not scale the text properly to print. Finally, after e-filing only my federal return, I changed my mind and decided to e-file my state return. Sorry, you can't get there from here. These are just the highlights. Even worse than the software is the support: there is none. You get directed to a worthless bot that is an excellent example of Artificial Ignorance. After wasting your time, it tries to send you to an accountant for a fee when all you want is to find out how to make the application operate properly. I had to find solutions by using chatbots. The bottom line is that this is the last H&R Block product I will ever buy, and I strongly encourage everyone else to avoid this worthless product.

I paid about 25% more for this year's software than in previous years. I also had to use Gemini to help explain a few tax issues when I needed help. I felt that it was information that H&R block should have provided. With that said, filling out the forms and submitting my taxes was a good experience as usual.
