Surely the world's WORST User Interface! The Interview sequence bears no resemblance to the IRS forms and the questions are often confusing as I try to figure out what is really being asked for. The inability to jump to the source for many calculated values is a real problem trying to figure out where something came from and how it was calculated. Just wasted almost all day trying to get a real estate installment sale entered. TERRIBLE User Interface !!!!!! Software does not deal well with AZ state tax credits - always have to print and mail because H&R Blah can't manage it.
Pros: Easy to import documents, Fast
Cons: Time consuming, Hard to prepare

2025 a complete failure. Could not please it.

For the first time the returns had to be mailed in because the password that has been used for years failed
and the final dollar amount from the prior year did not transfer. EXTREME DISAPPOINTED.

State installer bugs are a huge headache on macOS

I have used this product for a number of years now. Every year there seems to be more ads/additional fee features sprinkled in, which is annoying. For example, if you chose to not submit your return via bank account, the app will then offer to let you use a credit card. But seeing the credit card fee I didn't want to pay it, but there was no way to go back to the bank account EFT option at that point. There is no reason for this except to try to grab more money. Simply state all of the payment fees up-front, all at one time, then the customer can make the call.
Also, when I submitted my returns (very close to the cut-off time), the app just froze on the progress bar without any indication anything was actually being submitted. After waiting about an hour I left my PC running through the night/morning. Eventually I got the confirmation emails saying my returns were accepted. Granted, everyone is trying to submit their returns at the last minute, but this should not be a "new thing" and the system should handle it better.
i will be looking for a new tax program next year.
