Have used the Block Deluxe program for several years now. Good program and well use it again. Would give it 5 Stars if price was a little lower.
Cons: Time consuming, Doesn't maximize refund, Hard to prepare, Hard to import documents

I have been using H&R Block software for my taxes for over 10 years and love it. Questions are easily answered through the informational tabs. The information from the previous year carries over, making my time at the task much shorter. A few times over the years, I have had questions that required a phone conversation, and that was easy to set up as well.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Maximizes refund, Easy to import documents
Cons: Time consuming

I don't know why I continue trying to use your software. The "Deluxe" version is FAR from being deluxe. Some of it makes no sense. 1. For example, you (and only you) ask for "average monthly balance" for the mortgage interest deduction. Why? IRS does not require this information, nor does anybody else. This number is not on the Form 1098. 2. For the sales tax deduction, you require the taxpayer to compute non-taxable income, which is very difficult for most taxpayers. But your program already has that information! Your program can compute the total far more easily than the customer. 3. Your scan for errors makes up problems that don't make sense. You don't give a clear direction where to fix the "problems." When the customer attempts to do so, your program erases data that are required! 4. I have repeatedly told you about these problems for years, but you don't fix them! 5. And finally, the worst of all - when I tried to create PDF copies of returns - a task that has been ridIculously difficult for years, YOU COMPLETELY DELETED ALL MY RETURNS, INCLUDING BACKUPS!!! That is absolutely unacceptable!!!!! You are history! Your junk software should be banned from sales. Absolutely. The End.

I purchased H&R sw last year. Took my time to follow my usual interview, made sure to include your updates until April and then transmitted both Federal and State electronically. This is what I do every year since 1996. I tried TurboTax few years ago. I didn’t like it. Too rigid.
