Federal was great, but state didn't go well. For the previous 2 years my return was accepted by the state, but my return was refigured and my refund was less. This year it seems will be the same. The section they have had issues with is an automatic entry.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Easy to import documents
Cons: Time consuming

I like that the program is more affordable and can import Turbotax data. However, it did ask to perform my own calculations to see if I qualify for the earned income credit.

I used the H&R Block Deluxe software for the first time to file our 2025 Federal return. The program was easy to learn, use, and file electronically. I entered all my data manually and did not attempt to download any of my tax forms and integrate them automatically. It was time-consuming, but I knew it was accurate. The AI-powered Help feature was useless. It was not able to answer any questions I asked.
Pros: Easy to prepare
Cons: Time consuming, Hard to import documents

The software failed in preparing the state return properly by not effectively incorporating the new tax law changes for the state. We ended up having to amend the return.
