Hard to see how interview aligns to forms. American opportunity credit seems to have a bug when it calcs and interview says you qualify then does not show on form to get credit! Also, not clear if you have a K1 where to enter on deluxe or if you need to upgrade to next version. I think questions should be there and if yes then offer to upgrade. I had turbo tax last year and tried HR block but will pay more to use Turbo tax next year. Also, have the time I could not download update automatically and had to do a manual update. Also said update after I filed on April 14! How do I know a bug may have screwed up my taxes?
Cons: Doesn't maximize refund, Hard to prepare

I used it for over 10 years doing my simple tax returns. It does the job OK.
But, the AI Assistant is terrible! Had great difficulty in instruction to re-submit a rejected CA tax return. I had to finally figured how to do it by myself! The original simple instruction I followed did not have a Re-submit button to choose!

Made the transition this year from Turbo Tax since H&R Block supports both Win 10 and 11, and Turbo does not support Win 10. All in all a smooth transition on importing last year's files. I was not used to the navigation of the various forms and the review of previous filled out data. The only drawback I experienced was that it tried to get me to correct errors on unneeded forms it pushed to me; after a while I learned the only way to correct the error flags was to delete the unneeded forms the return. There was no advice or help to figure that part out.
Pros: Easy to import documents

Deeply disappointed that I was not able to file electronically. Problem was that there was apparently a mismatch between data fed had on some 1099's and what I had. Unfortunately there was no way that data could be identified without me calling each 1099 source.There had to be a better way. This has never happened before with other tax prep software.

Cons: Time consuming
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Software was excellent. Had an issue with the tax file transmission. System would finalize the return, try to submit the return, fail, and still charge me for the state submission. I have 5 charges for the state submission. took be a while to realize it was an update issue. Once I got the software updated, everything submitted correctly, I still have the extra issues on my credit card...
