I have used H&R Block software for about 10 years and have only had one problem with it. This year was a good year for taxes since the SALT rules were changed.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Maximizes refund
Cons: Time consuming, Hard to import documents
I would recommend this to a friend!

I've used H & R Block tax software previously, so as anticipated, everything worked out well. Complaint: Difficulty entering correct rental depreciation amount to reflect my 1/3 ownership share. Software kept calculating my share as 2/3. When I entered correct amount via "override," the final submittal was blocked.

i've been a customer for 15+ years, this year i had a problem with a K-1 form, I was able to put in the values, but at validation time the app would not allow me to proceed with filing because it said it does not support k-1 forms and told me to wait for updates. i waited for a couple of weeks and it didn't work. It also felt less stable than previous years. I think next year i'll shop around instead of buying another h&r block product.
Pros: Easy to import documents
Cons: Time consuming, Hard to prepare
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
