I've used this program for many years,
BUT
I'm disappointed in the way the program handled my state (Alabama) income tax return. I e-filed both the federal and state return, I received an email when the federal return was accepted. The program itself eventually told me my state return wa accepted but didn't tell me how to make a payment it also didn't show the amount owed on the "home" screen.

Good Overall Value - Makes Sense For Simple Return

Overall, the software is user friendly although there can be some relatively minor confusing directions or steps. For someone with a generally simple return, this software is a good alternative to the far more expensive office preparation and makes a lot of sense and after some very bad experiences with Turbo Tax and Cash App where major things were missed. My only complaint would be the same as with competitors in that state filings are charged even when the customer is given the impression that there is free filing for both state and federal.

Cons: Doesn't maximize refund

This product is fine as I have used it in the past, except for Form 8962. This was the first time using this form, as the interview is not clear and even with IRS Form 8952 instructions, it was a bear to complete and very confusing.

As always, the software (DELUXE w/State) works very easy, and we are very confident in the results when we put them in the mail. However, my wife and I have different types of PC's (a PC and an iMAC). Prior to this year, being in the same household, were able to get the two different downloads, one for each type of computer. This year you changed your rules??? This caused us a tremendous amount of hassle for the one who had to use the "other's" machine. Seems to be very poor policy. This made us consider using a different provider, for the first time in decades.
