I’ve used Turbo Tax for years, they are much more user friendly. However, they have gotten very greedy and chose to be not functional for Windows 10. I am very thankful that Block came to the rescue!
My biggest recommendation…..Be more TurboTax and you will have me for life.
Also of note…..It software download over 2000 copies of my brokerage file….???

As I have for the past 10 or 15 years, I use the H&R Block deluxe edition software on my computer. This year was buggier than in past years. They were parts of the interview at which the program would quit and I would need to reopen it. Also the instructions for form 8949 and schedule D were terrible. Usually I am confident that the program got my tax return correctly, but this year I have no such confidence.
Cons: Time consuming, Hard to prepare, Hard to import documents
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Used to love this software on my Macs, but I had 2 issues, my return was rejected because my last year adjusted income was incorrect and I could not download my broker info because the HR default browser Safari, I is not compatible with a major Stock Brokerage firm. I had to finish my return on a PC.☹️
Pros: Fast
Cons: Hard to import documents

The software was corrupted. It would not accept the buy state process. Had to try several times. And it kept taking the price of the state fee out of my acct.

Pretty easy to use, but misleading in price. It claims to do state, but you have to pay an extra fee to submit it. There was also a fee to pay money due to the IRS that had a very high hidden fee as well.
