Works well except

Works well. Have used HR Block for many years and the price is decent.
My only issue is that I can’t download my state in a timely manner. Others have filed state and federal but the software which told me originally I could download the update on 2/5 now won’t allow me to do so until the 22nd! Absolutely unacceptable!
Pros: Easy to install, Easy to prepare, Maximizes refund, Easy to import, Fast
Cons: Time consuming, Hard to install
I would recommend this to a friend!

DELUXE + STATE

we have used block for our taxes for over 25 years and Was always satisfied until last year then it was a total mess had to end up using another program. this year it was even worse!! a total disaster! will never use block again and would not recommend it to anyone. had to fight the program all the way would not import jumpes back and forth between federal and state then would not file.
Cons: Time consuming, Doesn't maximize refund, Hard to fix issues, Hard to prepare, Hard to install, Hard to import
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great product

I have been using HR block software for nearly 25 years to do my taxes. It is simple enough to use and thourough. I have compared the reults in this package and in professional tax software and the result is the same.
Pros: Easy to install, Easy to prepare, Maximizes refund, Easy to import, Fast
Cons: Hard to fix issues

Easy to use and accurate

I have been using H&R Block tax filing software for 10 years and prior to that I used TaxCut before H&R Block bought them out. I've never used the seemingly more popular TurboTax but I've never felt the need to even check it out. Over these last ten years we have had all sorts of investments, self-employment income, AMT taxes, extra Medicare taxes, deferred compensation and pensions as well as regular W-2 income. On the deduction side the program has navigated well through our deductions, including non-cash contributions. I really like the DeductionPro feature, which is included in the Deluxe and Premium versions, that makes it easy calculate the thrift store value of non-cash donations.

If your are not familiar with doing taxes it could become a challenge. Having worked for H&R Block I'm familiar with doing taxes. The software could be better with layman's instructions.
Pros: Easy to install, Maximizes refund, Easy to import
Cons: Time consuming, Hard to fix issues

I completed my taxes for free and did not submit them. I purchased the Delux version and completed my taxes. The outcome was the same as the free versions. When I submitted the returns, an update was required. The update errors out multiple times. Took hours to get it to finally complete the update.
Pros: Easy to install, Easy to prepare, Fast
Cons: Doesn't maximize refund, Hard to fix issues

I've used this software for over 10 years and love it. So easy to follow along with detail information if I need it. Makes it easy to do my taxes in a short time. Understanding all the new tax laws and changes makes it easy.
