Very straight forward

I bought this when it became available and I have been able to work on my taxes over time. Because of the straight forward format, I was able to go back and forth as forms became available. Very satisfying.
Pros: Easy to prepare

We've been using H&R Block tax preparation for years & love it. It's so easy to use & input the needed data into the forms.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Maximizes refund, Easy to import documents, Fast

You need to add a question regarding defined benefit pensions. The Alabama State program downloads pensions from the federal as taxable on the state. You have to know Alabama law to go to the tax form and show this as a deduction. It is not taxable in Alabama. This failure has caused me to overpay the state of Alabama taxes on $6,200 income for 17 years. I now have to file amended returns. A simple question on the input form would prevent this problem. Otherwise program seems OK.

Cons: Doesn't maximize refund

Tax Filing

Used the program, filed my taxes, printed sheet that confirmed they were filed, got emails saying they were accepted, But program in computer keeps telling me I haven't filed my taxes so I can't check status. Can't seem to fix it

Very easy to use. Very complete and thorough. One quibble: I had to be aware that the accrued interest from my US Treasuries was not taxable and find the spot to enter this; I think it should have asked me up front.
