Fast and Super Easy!

I have always dreaded doing my IRS taxes. It's so time consuming and frustrating. This year, I bought H & R Block Tax software and it made the task so much easier. All I did was gather all the necessary info, fill in the blanks and it was done. I printed a copy for my records before filing but the entire process took only about 3 hours, including printing 1099's from my mutual fund accounts, banks, and all other investments.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Maximizes refund, Fast

I did my 1040 manually first - then did the H&R Block software. I had made a simple math error which gave me an additional $500 (for "other dependent credit").
Pros: Maximizes refund

print copy problems

I went to print a copy of the return for my files and no matter what I tried I couldn't get the 1040 to print out like the form looked. It printed out with missing lines and in about a half page document.
Pros: Easy to import documents
Cons: Time consuming
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

problem with determining filing status

After completing the tax prep as married filing jointly, I thought I would check what happened if I selected married filing separately, which the software package indicated I could do. The software then allowed me to prepare a return for myself and deleted all information for my wife. When I found my taxes would go up I decided to file as married filing jointly, but the information for my wife was gone. I had to put it all back in. Not sure if there was something I could have done differently, but I could not find a way to restore the first version.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Maximizes refund

well done... one error in software...... Refund to be applied to next year taxes shows up as an error, but filed ok.

Problem filing state return

I’ve tried 7 times (7 charges on credit card) to file the Michigan state return. The H&R Block program says there is a problem with the credit card but the bank says the charge was approved. Still can’t file the state return

H&R BLOCK DOES EVERYTHING, JUST ANSWER THE QUESTIONS. THE INSTRUCTIONS ARE VERY CLEAR AND EASY TO UNDERSTAND.
