There were some new things which were kind of confusing. It also seemed to be missing an item that I used to fill in concerning other taxes paid that my mortgage company pays out of my escrow. I didn't receive a refund and have had to pay for the last 3 years...not happy.
Cons: Time consuming

Switched to H&R Block after TurboTax ended support on windows 10. Seamless transition to port last years TurboTax to the H&R software. I found the software to be easy to use. Very pleased!
I compared my 2024 TurboTax return to the 2025 H&R tax return and found two(2) differences that are puzzling.
1. The 2025 return deducted a late fee for estimated taxes not paid in 2025. I followed the same procedure for paying tax on IRA withdrawal in 2025 as I did in 2024.
2. The H&R Block return for 2025 created an Ohio School District form that stated an expected refund of the tax paid on the 2025 IRA taxes paid. I have never received such a form even though I paid the same tax in 2024. Furthermore I was instructed by H&R Block to manually submit the Ohio district form due to inability to transmit electronically. I received notification from the state of Ohio that the calculation was incorrect and no refund would be approved.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Easy to import documents

Overall H&R Block Deluxe is quite easy to use and my data was directly imported from TurboTax, making it a relatively easy and smooth transition. However, I noticed that in many panels, it would be simpler to mention that the situations are RARE so that I do not need to spend time figuring out if the situations really apply to me, and there are many many panels. So it make it a little repetitive and therefore, not user friendly. Nothing there is difficult, but the idea of a software is to make the user handle this already unpleasent tax activity with as little stress as possible.
