As a recently retired married couple we weren't certain that this version of H&R Block would be adequate. We tried it with an expectation that we might need more advanced services. The product had all of the capabilities needed to prepare a complete and accurate return.
Have been an H&R Bloch user for many years and am mostly very satisfied. The Deluxe version is pretty easy to use and the cost is reasonable. My one disappointment is that it does not support e-filing to NJ if you have a K-1. The software's message suggests that H&R software does not support that filing not that NJ disallows it. This causes me a great deal of extra, unnecessary time and work.
I have been using H&R Block for several years now and couldn't be happier to be done with "the other guy" who left the Mac community out in the cold several years ago. Straight forward processing and seamless import from "the other guy". I downloaded, completed, and received my Fed and State return all within one week's time. That's what I'm talking about...!!
Pros: Easy to prepare, Maximizes refund, Easy to import documents, Fast
I bought this the second week of January from a cd mailed by the company. works pretty well, but not as good as in previous years Grouping stock sales for form 8949 lacks the ability to specify which particular box was checked (part I box A, part II box D, part II box E), thus eliminating the ability to group the sales and forcing the user to enter each sale individually.
I've used H&R Block tax programs for several years. However, I was concerned about doing my taxes my self this year I retired in June, so I had income from my former job, my pension, and Social Security. As usual, this program was so easy to use, I had no problems.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Maximizes refund, Easy to import documents, Fast
I use this product even though I have access to a competing product used by the IRS and the AARP for the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program as a volunteer tax preparer.
Program says it will fill in AGI as 0 if didn't file last year. But rejected because incorrect AGI manually corrected and submitted and rejected again. In addition why ask for deductions information and then when all complete it says no deductions are allowed for that because if tax law changes,. Then why should I waste my time entering it. One item was job related expenses for a move to diff job.
