The app quit unexpectedly several times, had to be restarted. I learned to hit the Save button before exiting each screen, but that shouldn't be necessary.
Also, although I bought the Deluxe with State, the software wanted to charge me when I downloaded my State, which required a phone call. The rep emailed me the State after quite a bit of conversation..

Easy to use, but hard to correct some mistakes

If you answer all the questions in the interview accurately and have all the necessary information before starting, this is easy to use. If you misunderstand a question and have to go back and change the answer, it can result in having to modify the generated form, because changing a "yes" to a "no" doesn't remove the entries from the previous misunderstanding (normally a good thing), but this can then ripple through the entire return. I really liked that the accuracy review caught one of those necessary updates. This difficulty is caused by the complexity of our tax system, including the many different types of 1099 forms, many of which require different processing, which is why we need a software program rather than filling out the forms by hand, but it's frustrating. Once it's all in place, filing was easy.
While I couldn't figure out how to automatically import a W-2, the "import from PDF" was a real time-saver and avoided mistyping or putting a number in the wrong entry, both of which I have done in the past.
I would recommend adding an optional "before you start" checklist, and clearer differentiation early in the interview of the forms received that are processed in each question sequence. For instance, stating up front that Social Security statements are NOT "other government payments."
Way easier than doing it from scratch, much less expensive than a paid preparer, and I think this is still the least expensive software program for a return that needs a 1040.
