This program works well for the most part. K-1 instructions left a lot to be desired. An update two weeks ahead of the filing deadline helped.

We buy the program so we can upload data from Merrill Lynch. This year it didn't work so we had to type in all the data manually. Hopefully we didn't make any mistakes. This was a waste of money.

I have been using H&R Tax software since it was called Tax Cut (at least 35 years) and have always found it very easy to use. Inputting data is simple and straightforward, and navigating it is also pretty easy. I did have one major problem this year, which is why only 4 stars. I purchased the software online, and was dismayed at how different it was. It took me several phone calls with different people until finally it turned out I had inadvertently purchased the onl8ine version. The agent on the hotline sent me the PC version I needed.
Pros: Easy to prepare
I would recommend this to a friend!

The is no zoom option to adjust the font size within the application. The font is very small on a large (e.g. 38") monitor. Windows font size adjustment does not affect the application font size.

Virginia state tax software fails to account for Virginia Tax Exempt dividends. There is no place to enter Virginia State Tax-Exempt dividends.
