You need to make it easier ti find grouping 1099B transactions together. Always hard to find the correct screen

Excellent Tax Program, Easy to use!

I've been using H&R Block Tax software for over 10 years. It's so easy, even with retirement investments, savings, etc. It's really like sitting down with a tax expert in your home, and if you have any questions, answers are only phone call away. The "interview" process is easy and straightforward, and we always get our max refund (if applicable). Thank you!

Helps Make Tax season worry-free (but one gripe)

My return is not complicated, but I appreciate not having to worry about the arithmetic and the prompts to make sure I don't miss anything. My one gripe is that I owed quite a bit of money to Indiana, and the product did not include the necessary form to tell me if I should expect/pay a penalty. I believe that by answering some related questions by accepting defaults, the product concluded I won't be penalized, but I'm not confident that is correct. If I'm right, I'll owe interest in addition to the penalty. But that's minor - the product is great and the chances are I'll use it again next year (and I'll try not to be over the IN limit!).

Great product but solve form 8283 box g requiremen

I really like receiving advance notifications when the software is available for purchase at a discounted rate. I also like the ease of uploading my return from last year. It’s easy to move through the questionnaire. You can improve Form 8283. I had this same problem a couple of years ago and had to file on paper. This time I just didn’t report all of my charitable donations for 1 day bc it was over $500. I read the IRS instructions and I think your software should have a solution for a donation over $500. I donated a lot of clothing goods that day totaling over $500 using deductionpro. Your software offered a minimal solution for completing that box. If an additional statement is needed for not completing that box, your software should provide for that to be most helpful.

Second year with this software. After being a long-time user of Turbo Tax, which for two years failed to properly account for my military pay which is exempt in Maine, I bought your software. It was relatively easy to use and did exempt my military pension in Maine. This second year seems even more seamless than the first. I will continue to be a customer.

I've used H&R Block's Deluxe + State software for the past nine years to prepare our federal and (Wisconsin) state returns. It makes what used to be a tedious, multi-day manual task much simpler -- even enjoyable, if, like me, you're something of a do-it-yourselfer. There can be a modest learning curve at first -- it helps to be somewhat familiar with tax law and terminology -- but in subsequent years, the path is clearer if one uses the same software. Although it seems more fine-tuned for the federal return than the state return, I've never had a problem with the acceptance of either. The price is reasonable, too, but DO shop around; it's not the same everywhere.

Pretty good for a miserable task

Generally good - really the same as TurboTax, but usually available for less cost. I use one or the other each year and switch to whichever is cheaper for that year. A problem I noticed this year with HRB is when doing a joint return it often refers to either "You" or "Spouse". That is good; it's clear. However sometimes it is not clear if you mean "You" or both. One example is when it says "total IRA value on 12/31/2025. No clue whether that means both of us or just me. So I just guess. On Qualified Charitable Donations, it is clear when it means "you" but never gives an opportunity for spouse data. So I just guess it must have meant both and combine them. Please fix this in future years.
