I remember the days of doing it long hand with the book I used to get at the post office and doing it with a pencil. Wow because of h&r blocks software program it sure makes my life a lot easier and I wish I had it when I was younger I wouldn't have been so rough on my wife and children when I filled out my tax return LOL
Pros: Easy to prepare, Maximizes refund, Easy to import documents, Fast

Used this software last year & it was just ok. This year, it seemed to explain things more clearly & completely. The questions on the margins were informative & helpful. It seemed easier to navigate the program. Also, I liked the way the program automatically populated Schedule D & Form 8949 for me.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Maximizes refund, Easy to import documents, Fast

state taxes paid did not go to state program correctly. i paid 1300 in taxes, software put in 130. i had to find the form and correct it myself. also i filed but haven't gotten the affirmation that they were filed. i paid for delux with state but still had to pay a filing fee.
Pros: Fast
Cons: Time consuming
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I have used thai for years while there are free programs out there this one covers you during the filing and if I get audited
Pros: Easy to prepare
Cons: Hard to import documents

I have not had any issue with the tax software which I have used for over ten years until 2020. It appears a glitch is in the software which prevents the Federal return from being successfully filed. I keep getting an error code implying the software needs to be updated although I am using the latest version of the software.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Technical flaw

Completed both Fed. State taxes, Fed tax e-mailed. State tax form could not be e-mailed. All info no longer exist, Must do state taxes over again.
Pros: Easy to prepare
Cons: Hard to import documents
